A little over 100 miles due south from Hillrock, you’ll find another shop favorite making delectable drams. At this point, our affection for the team at Widow Jane should come as no surprise. This batch of the ‘Lucky Thirteen’ (aged no less than 13 years in their Red Hook rick house) carries aromas of soft vanilla caramels, Earl Grey tea and sweet tobacco leaves. On the palate, rich flavors of pecan praline, toasted wheat and crumbly buttered pie crust finish with warm spices, sassafras, a pop of grapefruit peel and charred oak tannins.
