Each Saints & Scholars release represents a selection of unique single barrels, double distilled in copper pot stills at Cooley Distillery in County Louth by Master Distiller and absolute legend, Noel Sweeney. The whiskey is then matured in ex-Heaven Hill Bourbon casks, where it patiently awaits its moment to shine. Each year, Sweeney tastes through and identifies a limited number of barrels from his personal collection for release. For the 2024 releases, he selected just 8 barrels, yielding less than 1300 bottles overall for the US market. The singular bottle we have up for grabs is marked Bottle 048 from Barrel No. 4356, and was bottled at cask strength. Don’t let this sit on our shelves for too long, or it will end up as a Christmas gift to yours truly.
