The "43" emblazoned across the front of this gin does not stand for the forty third recipe by Jerbis, but rather for the exact number of botanicals featured in this unique gin. Heavier on juniper than a classic gin, this spirit also features mandarin, thyme, fennel, mountain pine, saffron, and orange zest - to name a few.
Despite the influence of juniper, this gin is more nuanced in presentation. After a nose reminiscent of violets, the palate is herbaceous and citrus forward. Sweetness comes from the fennel and anise before being tempered by bitter notes added by wormwood and gentian. The finish is fresh with mint and other herbs, leaving your palate wondering when the next sip is.
