However, Jim Beam has two primary yeast strains and mashbills that are used for their bourbons, the “high-rye” most notably for making Old Grand-Dad. So what happens when you swap the yeast strains on an Old Grand-Dad mashbill? Answer: Baker’s 7-Year.
