2012 Zinfandel
Amador County, California
$18 per bottle | $194.40 per case

One of the most encouraging trends in America right now is the maturing of zinfandel into a more restrained, food-friendly wine. For Bill Easton, who's been producing his rich yet finely detailed Zinfandel in this style at his eponymous winery since 1986, this is nothing new. Classically peppery with spiced, ripe dark fruits, Easton’s flagship bottling has just enough oak and gentle acidity to support its dense texture and body. Like most Zinfandels, it tastes as if it were created to be sipped alongside fire-grilled steaks and chops, but its more refined nature makes it just as at home with poultry or even salmon. - Ryan Stotz, Store Manager, H&F Bottle Shop
