2012 Sauvignon Blanc
$19 per bottle | $205.20 per case
We are pleased to present a very special Wine of the Week to show our support for all of the Napa area wineries impacted by last week’s earthquake. Emmolo began in 1923 when Salvatore Emmolo migrated from Italy and settled in Rutherford, California setting up a grapevine rootstock nursery on her newly acquired property. His granddaughter, Cheryl, started Emmolo wines in 1994 and now her daughter, Jenny Wagner, is continuing the family business. For the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, Jenny’s second release, she uses grapes from the Emmolo Rutherford and Emmolo Oak Knoll vineyards and ages the wine in both stainless steel and aged oak barrels.
The wine is fresh and bright, just how we like Sauvignon Blanc! There’s a good amount of minerality that is kissed by notes of sweet honeysuckle and orange blossom, and a zesty acidity with a hint of grapefruit on the finish. Pair this with light pastas, shrimp and flaky white fish, and grilled vegetables.
