Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey $30
Herbsaint Legendre $39
Peychaud's Bitters $11

Widely recognized as the oldest American cocktail, a Sazerac is the ideal Fat Tuesday drink. This New Orleans classic cocktail was originally made with Cognac, but due to a shortage of French Brandy in the late 19th century (thanks phylloxera!) barkeeps began using the more readily available rye whiskey as the base spirit. We always say that there's something magic that happens when you add sugar and bitters to whiskey, and this applies here as well, just with extra herbs and spice from Herbsaint. The signature pink hue comes not from something syrupy, but rather Peychaud's bitters, which are slightly sweet, a little fruity, and full of baking spice and anise. Ideal pairing? Moon Pies! Pancakes! Flying beads! - Morganne Lee, Assistant Store Manager, H&F Bottle Shop
