J.W. Dant
Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bottled in Bond
100 Proof | 750 mL

Beginning in the 1830’s, Joseph Washington Dant was a legendary Kentucky distiller. Starting his whiskey career at the ripe age of 16, Dant became famous for being the first major distiller to make whiskey using a log still. Since then, times have changed and today Heaven Hill does not use log stills, however, J.W. Dant Bourbon is as rich in flavor as it is in history. So what is “Bottled in Bond?” Being a “bonded” Bourbon guarantees that the liquor is the product of one distillation season at one distiller; it must be aged in a federally bonded warehouse under U.S. government supervision for at least four years; and bottled at 50% ABV or 100 proof. A real gem, J.W. Dant is complex with caramel, mint, black pepper, and oak that rolls into spicy rye, cayenne, vanilla, and a bit of heat from the alcohol. The finish is powerful with tannins, more vanilla, and citrus making it great for sipping or cocktails. Try a Horses Neck with Fevertree Ginger Beer and a dash of Angostura Bitters - a true sipper with a bit of zing while you watch the big game. - Casey Teague, Whisk(e)y Specialist, H&F Bottle Shop
